The Dubai Land Department has received more than 1,000 applications for enrollment in the “Dubai Real Estate Broker Program” since registration opened for Emirate citizens in mid-March. While the number of real estate development and brokerage companies under the umbrella of the program’s strategic alliance has so far reached 25 strategic partnerships with the private sector, as part of its implementation of the Dubai Real Estate Broker Program, one of the programs of the Dubai Social Agenda.
Engineer Marwan bin Ghalita, Acting Director General of the Dubai Land Department, expressed his happiness and pride at the level of turnout that the program witnessed, both in terms of applications for membership from citizens and at the level of developers and real estate brokers, indicating that this reflects the early positive impact achieved by the program, Which demonstrated the extent of citizens’ aspiration and ambition to work as real estate brokers, out of their belief in the important and pivotal role that the real estate sector in Dubai has now played locally and globally. In addition to the firm commitment shown by real estate companies in Dubai towards supporting and implementing the initiatives launched by the wise leadership with the aim of making Dubai the incubating and enabling environment for national skills, and thus increasing the number of citizens working in the private sector to three times the current number, and raising their productivity and economic contribution, specifically in the real estate sector.
He said: “The Emirate of Dubai has always been and continues to provide exceptional models of partnership and integration between the private and public sectors, and today, with the number of those affiliated with the program reaching more than 1,000 citizens, and real estate companies continuing to join the strategic alliance within a short period, we are moving steadily to achieve all the ambitious goals of the Dubai Program.” For real estate brokers, first and foremost is raising the percentage of national brokers from 5% to 15% within 3 years.”
Empowering and Qualifying
The first training course was launched, organized by the New Economy Academy, and is part of more than 15 training courses planned to be organized until the end of the year within the framework of the program. It focuses on empowering, qualifying and training members, providing job opportunities for citizens and granting them a citizen real estate broker’s license, as part of the “Rehabilitation Project.” » In the real estate brokerage profession with an elite group of the most prominent and important real estate experts, by providing the mandatory qualifications necessary to obtain a license for a real estate broker, and raising the level of the profession by educating the brokers affiliated with the program about the best practices and ethical standards of the profession, and introducing the procedures for buying, selling and renting real estate. The rehabilitation project is one of the projects included in the recently launched “Dubai Real Estate Broker Program,” which also includes the National Broker License Project, the project to encourage developers to allocate a percentage of their sales to the national broker, the Empowerment Project in the Real Estate Sector, and the Emirates Business Group Project for Real Estate Brokerage.
New Horizons
Under the partnership with the private sector, various packages of support will be provided to affiliates, including raising the competitive efficiency of Emirate cadres and enabling them to fill jobs in the real estate sector through designing and implementing qualitative supportive projects, cooperating in joint projects aimed at developing the sector, promoting a culture of innovation and sustainability, and providing guidance and professional training for national cadres and their support to ensure their empowerment in the private sector and the development of their specialized competencies to create their own businesses, in addition to making every effort to allocate a percentage of 10% to 15% of the development company’s sales to be marketed by Emirate real estate brokers, and contributing to empowering national cadres by providing job opportunities with real estate development companies.
Increase Citizen Intermediaries
The Dubai Real Estate Broker Program aims to raise the percentage of national brokers from 5% to 15% during the next three years, with the aim of consolidating the role of young citizens in the development process of Dubai, and enhancing their role in various vital sectors. The program comes within the “Dubai Social Agenda 33” launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him, under the slogan “The Family is the Foundation of the Nation,” which seeks to increase the number of citizens working in the private sector to Three times the current number.
It also meets the objectives of the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, which aims to make Dubai an incubating and enabling environment for national skills, by integrating 65,000 of the rising Emirati generation into the labor market and into promising sectors, thus confirming Dubai’s position as a center for skilled people and specialists.
