Villas, in both private and investment categories, accounted for the vast majority of buildings completed in Dubai, since the outbreak of the “Covid-19” pandemic, specifically in 2020, and until last year 2024. According to “Al Khaleej” data, which it monitored based on statistics from the Dubai Statistics Center (Digital Dubai), the number of villas completed during that period (2020-2024) amounted to about 11,700 villas, out of the total number of buildings completed during the period, which amounted to about 14,400 buildings, accounting for a share exceeding 81% of the total.
In 2020, the number of completed villas reached about 2,470, out of a total of 3,227 completed buildings at that time. The following year, their number reached 1,589 villas out of a total of 2,237 buildings. In 2022, their number reached 1,519 villas out of a total of 1,941 buildings. In 2023, their number reached 3,051 villas out of a total of 3,520 buildings. Last year, 2024, their number reached 3,060 villas out of a total of 3,461 buildings.
2024
During the past year, 2024, Dubai completed 3,461 buildings, distributed over 3,060 villas, in its two categories: private (2,245 villas) and investment (815 villas), together representing about 88.5% of the total number of buildings completed last year. The strong real estate demand in Dubai continues, led by the demand for villas, which have witnessed strong demand since 2021. 188 multi-storey buildings were completed in 2024, 113 public buildings, and 100 industrial buildings.
December was the month with the highest number of buildings completed in 2024, with 457 buildings, followed by September with 433 buildings, October with 410 buildings, November with 382 buildings, March with 314 buildings, July with 247 buildings, August with 243 buildings, February and June with 225 buildings each, January with 201 buildings, May with 172 buildings, and finally April with 152 buildings.
