Dubai Land Department Completes 647 Amicable Real Estate Settlements Worth AED 1.38 Billion During the First Half

Dubai Land Department (DLD) has completed 647 amicable real estate settlements worth more than AED 1.38 billion during the first half of 2024. A 100% approval rate for settlement agreements was achieved through the “Aqoodi Platform” service, which contributed to facilitating and accelerating the pace of real estate settlements, achieving greater effectiveness in managing real estate disputes, and providing a safe and reliable means of confirming the parties’ approval of the terms of the agreement and documenting it legally.

Dubai Land Department is keen to promote a culture of amicable settlements to resolve real estate disputes peacefully, providing a valuable resource for investors and developers. The department has qualified legal cadres to manage settlements between parties and provide specialized consultations and accurate analysis of disputes, which contributes to finding quick and effective solutions without resorting to the courts, which maintains good relations between parties and saves time, effort and expenses, and legally documents agreements to ensure full compliance, thus enhancing the confidence of developers and investors and achieving continuity of cooperation between them.

Abdullah Al Zarooni, Director of Legal Support Department at Dubai Land Department, pointed out that amicable settlements confirm the vital role played by Dubai Land Department in encouraging investors and real estate developers to resort to real estate reconciliation through the “Aqoodi Platform” service as an effective means of resolving real estate disputes, enhancing the speed of their completion at a record rate, and thus achieving investor satisfaction and happiness. These settlements also enable the parties to move forward towards maximum benefit from real estate investments and not obstructing the real estate project, which effectively contributes to activating several industries accompanying construction operations.
